5 places to travel in your twenties

USA

The dream road trip destination, whether you want to explore the wilderness of Yellowstone National Park, blast ‘California Love’ down Route 66 or party hard on the Vegas strip, the United States has it all. Everyone should have a road trip at least once in their life and the US is famous for it (and with good reason too!) Your twenties are a prime time to embrace your freedom post-uni/college or well... after anything really. Go solo or join a group tour to meet a bunch of awesome mates, either way don’t forget your camera (and passport obz).

Iceland

The perfect winter wonderland destination. Embrace the layers, don your warmest woolies and head to Iceland in winter. Between November and February is a great time for spotting the northern lights and the further you get out of the main city of Reykjavik the higher your chances are of spotting the Aurora Borealis dance. Iceland is a great place to embrace the wild and explore, discover towering volcanos, glacier lagoons and waterfalls for daysssss.

India

Divert from fellow backpackers and head south to Kerala. Much more laid back than it’s northern counterparts, Kerala is a great place to chill. Get yourself an Ayurvedic massage, cycle through glorious green tea plantations or float down the river from Alleppey on a traditional houseboat while all your worries of bills, crap weather and dry January drift away.

England

Yep, you read that right, I have actually suggested good ol’ Royal Britannia.

Many people, including myself, are guilty of travelling to far-off lands and forgetting to explore what’s on our own doorstep. Bath, Cornwall and Brighton are some quirkier places to discover, alternatively head into London Town and uncover jazz bars in Soho,  brunch in Balham and stunning views from South Bank skyscrapers.

Australia

A classic. The Aussie sunshine will always be a staple to any travellers list, with sun, sand and well... surfers, what’s not to love? Check out bustling Bondi beach, hop on a tram and get lost down Melbourne’s quirky Collins Street or swim with sharks at Ningaloo reef.

Your twenties are for enjoying yourself, so sod everything off, swing a backpack over your shoulder and put your middle finger up to the world. This is your time.
